- In pretend play with your child, use the word "that" to explain what is happening in your shared play, "That is my house. That is your house. That is the school."
- When you go shopping, name the things you got with a carrier phrase “I/we got”, e’g’, “we got goldfish”, “I got yogurt”.
- When you're in our car or walking through the neighborhood, see if you can find different things to the count of 8. For example, "Can we find 8 stars on this street"?

- Play dress up and talk about what you and your child "put on"
