Hi All You Rabbits!

working on "y" sound-: Make an "eee" sound  and then make an  "I"  sound.  Now do it again but slowly and fluidly without stopping your voice. It should sound like this  "eeeeeeeyyyyyyyIIIIIIIIIII". The transition from the "eee" position to the "'I" position is what makes the "y" sound. Scroll down for more.

Here are some fun and simple activities for practicing this sound:

- Sing Old MacDonald Had a Farm.  The "E-I-E-I-O" refrain actually includes the "y" sound when you sing it.

Core vocabulary: yay, yell, yikes,  you, your, yours, yes, yum, yuck, yellow

Line-up cheer- Teacher: Zip it! Lock it!  Students:  Put it in your pocket!

Gross motor game: Scarf-Jump-Yell- throw 3-4 scarves on the floor, jump from one to the next & then when you get to the last one yell your target word. ( You can use a plastic microphone to make it even louder).
