Here is how you make the "sh" sound:
Make your tongue high in your mouth and pull it so that the sides of the tongue contact the back teeth at the roof of the mouth. Make your lips stick out a little bit.
This tongue position makes shallow groove in the center of the tongue. Push a stream of air over the tongue.
Here are some simple activities you can do with your child to practice this sound:
1. Look for things in your house that are shiny and not shiny.
2. Count doors in your house that are shut and not shut.
3. Compare the different kinds of shoes in your house. Look at colors, size, how they fasten, etc.
4. Describe your child’s relatives or friends who are girls with simple “She is___” and “She likes___” sentences, eg “She is tall”, “She likes to run”
