This lesson is about using the /k/ sound at the beginnings of words and also remembering to use past tense words when we talk about something that already happened.
To make the /k/ sound, we raise the back of our tongues to make contact with the soft palate in to stop a flow of air as we push it out of our lungs. This is an unvoiced sound, meaning the larynx is not activated for this sound. That gives the /k/ an airy quality, rather than sounding like a tone.
Using past tense accurately is very important for clear communication. It indicates and action that has already happened. For most action words we use regular past tense, with the -ed at the end of the word.
