Never Too Little To Love by Jeanne Willis

(scroll down for more activities & information)

The emphasis in this lesson is on producing the /v/ sound in the middle of words. The /v/ sound is produced like the /f/ in that your upper teeth make contact with your lower lip.  However, in making the /v/  , voicing is added making it louder than the /f/.

Here are some easy activities for practicing this sound at home or while you're traveling around during the day:

1. Count seven of different things around your house or things you see in daily trips  in your car.

2. "Don't step in the lava !" is fun game.  Put scarves, papers or something on the floor to symbolize hot lava, and then run races or obstacle courses which require the racers to jump over the lava.

3. Look in the bedrooms in your home and see what kind of covers you have.    Are there superheroes on them? Flowers?

4. What in your kitchen is heavy and what is not heavy?   A gallon of milk?  A bag of cookies? A banana?
